Sacred Rock, a large granite boulder on the beach in Northeast Michigan used by Native Americans as a boundary marker and sacrificial altar

According to Native American legend, a long time ago Kitchie Manitou, the Great Spirit, grew disgusted with two quarreling chiefs and hurled the Sacred Rock down and crushed the chiefs underneath. When it rains on the rock the blood of the dead chiefs can be seen on the rock and sometimes flowing out from underneath.
