The French Commando training centre (Centre National d'Entrainement Commando) in Vauban's Fort Miradou, Collioure.

France's Centre National d'Entrainement Commando (CNEC) was set up on 1 January 1964 based on the commando forces established in WWII. The school is intended to harden young officers and NCOs, take part in the operational training of army units and train officers in commando techniques such as close combat, sabotage, survival behind enemy lines, etc. The site at Fort Midadou is used for sea-training activities such as scuba diving and handling RIBs. The main base of the CNEC is inland at the citadel of Mont-Louis.
