SENSATIONAL pictures show humpback whales perfectly adjusted to their new feeding waters. From a feeding frenzy of several adults preying on shoals of herring to flipping for the sheer joy of it these pictures show researchers capturing the moment humpback whales chase down their quarry along what is a new migration route for the mighty seabeasts. Research scientist Karl-Otto Jacobsen (50) took the pictures in the fjords off the Norwegian town of Tromso during a research trip to study how successfully the whales had adapted to the changing migration route of the herring they need to survive.
