Lao people at remote village in North East Laos

The village Muang Ngoi in the far north east of Laos is just a few miles from the Vietnamese border and Dien Bien Phu only reached by boat trip up the Nam Ou river, it is a one dirt track village which was a communist stronghold during the French Indo China War and part of the Ho Chi Minh trail in the second IndoChina war and was heavily bombed by the American air force in the mid sixties. Since the war the village has reverted back to rice farming and now tourism
