An advertisement for "Abalasanjeevani or The Nectar for Female Diseases, Hysteria, etc." This was a tonic created by Pandit Gopalacharlu, who was born in 1872 at Machilipatnam in India. He studied ayurveda in Mysore and in 1898 started the Ayurvedasramam to popularize ayurvedic medicine. Ayurvedic medicine is a system of Hindu traditional medicine. The oldest known Ayurvedic texts are the Susrutha Samhita and the Charaka Samhita.
