This was following a mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kolkata when a group of nuns from the order of the Missionaries of Charity took their final vows to the order. Schaefer was asked by Mother Teresa to photograph the mass. She is holding paper bag that contains the hand-written final vows. The celebration is on the rooftop of the mother house on AJC Rd. in Kolkata, the headquarters for the Missionaries of Charity. Schaefer was given the rare privilege to document the work of the Missionaries of Charity.
