Valacyclovir antiviral drug, molecular model. Valacyclovir is an antiviral medication used primarily for cold sores, genital herpes and shingles. In vivo, valacylovir is hydrolysed to the active form of the drug, acyclovir. Atoms are colour-coded: carbon is black; hydrogen is white; nitrogen is blue; oxygen is red.
