A German circular shield, circa 1580 Slightly domed shield, worked in one piece, with an offset edge. Central by screwed spike of diamond section, on the front engraved linear ornaments radiating from the centre. Turned edge, partly preserved brass-capped lining rivets continuously around the rim.
