This project brings together three former industrial and warehouse buildings, creates a new entrance sequence, four storey high atrium and adds a further two storeys of office accommodation. achieving a BREEAM Very Good rating. The removal of an existing single storey building and parts of the warehouse beyond opens up a slot in the building fabric into which an open sided two storey concrete arch is inserted signalling the new entrance providing a new and open route through to the heart of the site. A gently inclined stone walkway leads visitors through a ribbon of wild grass planting, in what is otherwise a hard urban environment, to the new reception from which the atrium carved from the existing building structure hosts a café, break out space along with two large passenger lifts and a circulation stair. On top of the larger 1950’s former printing works building a two storey steel framed extension is created providing around 2, of office space.
