A staff member looks onto the Helene Schjerfbeck's painting "Alarm 1935" at the Royal Academy of Arts during the preview of her first ever exhibition in exhibition features around 65 portraits, landscapes and still life, charting the development of Helene Schjerfbeck’s work from a naturalistic style inspired by French Salon painters in the early 1880s, to a radically abstracted and modern approach from the turn of the twentieth century onwards. The exhibition runs from 20 July to 27 October 2019.
