Paneveggio-Trent regional park.


The Natural Park Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino is a protected area established by the Regional Autonomous Province of Trento in 1967. The initial extension was about 157 km ², then extended in 1987 to 197 km ². The park includes many different areas, covering not only the part of the Trentino Dolomites of the Pale di San Martino (which also extends in the province of Belluno), but also the eastern sector of the massif Lagorai, composed of igneous rocks (mostly porphyry). They are part of the park including several valleys in the district of Primiero: Vanoi much of the valley, which coincides with the municipality of Canal San Bovo, crossed by the river and surrounded by mountains Lagorai; Val Canali, access area to the southern chain of the Pale di San Martino, in the southeastern part of the Park, with the lateral Pradidali Valley; Val Venegia in the area between Passo Rolle and the Pian dei Casoni, Travignolo in the basin at the foot of the main peaks of the Pale, the Cimon della Pala and Vezzana. In the Park extends also note Paneveggio spruce forest, located in the municipalities of Predazzo (Fiemme), and Tonadico Siror. read
