Hanuman Langur ( Semnopitheaus entellus) considered sacred by the Hindus of India perched on rooftop tiles in the rain in Goa.


The Asian langurs belong to the family Cercopithecidae and subfamily Colobinae The best known Asian leaf-eating species is the Hanuman Langur. They are largely gray, with a black face. Many Hindus leave them unmolested .There are an estimated 230,000 Hanuman langurs left in India.
