Portugal: Traditional hand made cowbells "chocalhos" in the small museum of Alcácovas


In the portuguese Alentejo village Alcacovas rattle or cowbells are produced in a unique traditional method, which has it´s origins in the 13th century. The handicraft has been declared Unesco Immaterial World Heritage and there are only more a few people who know how to produce these iron bells which shepards l use for to their sheep, cows or goats.
