Halligan Bay Track, Lake Eyre, South Australia. In December 1998 tourists Karl Goeschka and Caroline Grossmueller, from Austria, left William Creek Hotel to travel 65 km East to Lake Eyre where their bushcamper got bogged. After waiting several days for help Caroline attempted to walk back to William Creek and died of heat exhaustion half way on Halligan Bay Track.
