A contemporary set of portraits of the Lord Mayor of London (Sir Thomas Pilkington) and his Aldermen in 1690 sitting at the Aldermen's Court. Sir Thomas who was a member of the Skinner's Guild / Livery Company (served as its Master 1677, 1681, and 1682) was an English merchant, Whig politician and parliamentarian during the days of the 'short Parliament, as well as being elected alderman of the ward of Farringdon Without and a sheriff. His home in 1677 was in Bush Lane, Scott's Yard, Cannon Street. His wife was Hannah Bromwich of London who bore him two sons
