Flowering shrub, Hydrangea aspera (= H. villosa)


Origin: Himalayas, W & Central China, Taiwan, Indonesia. Hydrangea aspera is a shrub native to the region between the Himalaya, across southern China, to Taiwan. The flowers are typically borne in large heads and are in variable shades of pale blue. Considerable natural variation occurs in the species, and some of the variations are sometimes considered to be separate species; these include H. aspera ssp. sargentiana and H. villosa.
