Denver, Colorado - Geoff Hargreaves, curator at the National Ice Core Laboratory, enters the storage room where ice cores are held at -36 degrees C (-33 degrees F). The lab stores 19,000 meters of ice cores from Antarctica, Greenland, and North America, and makes them available to scientists studying climate change and other issues. The lab is part of the Geological Survey, funded by the National Science Foundation.
