Shiny dark red/ maroon rosettes of the succulent 'aeonium arborium zwartkop' enjoying bright sunshine found in the Isles of Scilly.

Aeonium (tree houseleek) is a genus of about 35 species of succulent, subtropical plants of the family Crassulaceae. While most of them are native to the Canary Islands, some are found in Madeira, Morocco, and in East Africa (for example in the Semien Mountains of Ethiopia), they grow readily in mild sunny areas such as found in the Scilly Islands UK. The Zwartkop variety has been awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's award of Garden Merit.
