Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. he mosque was opened in 2007 and it is the largest mosque in the UAE. The complex covers 30 acres and it can hold 40,000 worshippers. The complex has elements of Arab, Moorish and Indo-Islamic design. Top artisans from around the world were involved in its construction, using predominantly natural materials such as marble, stone, gold, crystal, semi-precious stones and ceramics. The workmanship is amazing Many beautiful alcoves were dispersed throughout the mosque, with their cool white Macedonian marble and their superb floral mosaics. They were a great place to sit and take a rest and enjoy the magnificent artistry of the mosque.
