Spurge, Euphorbia spec. , from the Maltese shore at Golden Bay, Mediterranean Sea.

The genus "Euphorbia" has an enormous number of around 2000 species ranging from small annual plants to long living shrubs that can reach a height of 2 m. These can be found all around the world. One feature they all have in common is the production of a poisonous, milky, white latex-like sap and the unique floral structure which you can see on this picture. They resist even hard living conditions such as rocky shores and dry areas.
