Entrance to the Lensic Performing Arts Centre in Santa Fe New Mexico. The theater dates from 1931 and was designed by the Boiler Brothers of Kansas City. They were wellknow movie and vaudeville theatre architects responsible for almost 100 theatres throughout the west and mid-west. It is built in a pseudo Moorish-Spanish Renaissance style. The name "Lensic" comes from the initials of one of the builders (E John Greer) grandchildren. Over the years the theater declined until in non-profit making group came togethervto raise the money to restore it. It was completely renovated between 1999 and 2001.
