Hewas elected in 1898 as a member of the New YorkState .Assembly from the Twenty-first .Assembly Dis-trict of ^Llnhattan. Lumediatcly upon his electionhe began a personal investigation of the New YorkCounty Surrogates Court and ofticc and upon theopening of the Legislative session procured the 230 UNIVERSiriES AND THEIR SONS passage of a resolution aiipointing an investigatingcommittee of which he was made the investigation resulted in the forced retirementof Surrogate John H. V. Arnold and in important Wg^ifei^. EDWARD H. FALLOWS remedial legislation aftecting the practice in Sur-rogates Courts. Mr. Fallows also served as amember of the Legislative Committee appointed toinvestigate the wholesale charges of corruptionagainst Tammany Hall. In 1899 he was re-electedto the State Assembly. He is a member of manysocieties and organizations, among them: AlphaDelta Phi, Phi Delta Phi, Yale and City Clubs ; BarAssociation, Military Order of the Loyal Legion,Sons of the American Revolution and others. Hemarried, June 14, 1893, Julia Haughton Kittredge,a lineal descendant of Priscilla and John have one child, Annette Richards Fallows. SAUNDERS, Charles Lockard Columbia in Mt.
