Detail on the towers on the west end of Durham Cathedral


Durham Cathedral was founded in 1093 and the bulk of the building is 11th/12 century and is regarded as one of the finest examples of Norman architecture in Europe, however the towers are later (13th Century) and the main tower was largely rebuilt in the 15th Century.
