A Pilos type crested helmet, 4th/3rd century Characteristically cone-shaped, bronze Pilos helmet with a broad, offset rim. A central Gorgoneion on the brow and four-spoke wheel appliqués on the sides above the pairs of holes for the chinstraps. Three piece helmet crest (fragments preserved) with wave-shaped and serrated decoration. Height cm. Reddish brown-green patina. The metal is heavily corroded.
