Sandown Castle Community Garden, Deal, Kent


A beautiful award winning tiered garden built in 1949 on the site of the former historic Sandown Castle (built by Henry VIII). The garden has been restored by a group of community volunteers. Free entry accessible 24 hours a day. Free roadside parking and wheelchair access. Dogs on leads only. A Hog & Bean Green Cafe is open for take away from 9am-2pm Monday to Friday and 9am -3pm weekends, weather permitting, and they sell cakes, coffee, tea, sausage rolls, fresh bread, salads and snacks and afternoon teas to order online from A percentage from each cup of coffee sold goes towards our community garden funds.
