The pacifist Breaking of the SwordsÊ statue of the Canadian National Vimy Memorial dedicated to the memory of Canadian Expeditionary Force members killed in World War one. The monument is situated at a 100 hectare preserved battlefield with wartime tunnels, trenches, craters and unexploded munitions. The memorial designed by Walter Seymour Allward opened in 1936.
