A German gilt Renaissance dagger, 16th/19th century Double-edged blade, grooved on both sides, with reinforced point and short ricasso. Iron, curved quillons, each side with a riveted, gilt mascaron. Leather-covered, brass-mounted wooden grip with pear-shaped iron pommel. The wooden scabbard covered with velvet, and with gilt, finely chased copper fittings in half relief.
