USA: Admiral William Frederick 'Bull' Halsey (30 October 1882 - 16 August 1959), 1945. Fleet Admiral William Frederick Halsey, Jr. (commonly referred to as 'Bill' or 'Bull' Halsey) was a Naval officer. He commanded the South Pacific Area during the early stages of the Pacific War against Japan. Later he was commander of the Third Fleet through the duration of hostilities.
