Derelict interior of the Lüderitz Municipal Power Station, Lüderitz, Namibia, Africa

The derelict Lüderitz Municipal Power Station, built on the shores of Radford Bay by the Koloniale Bergbau-gesellschaft, and completed in 1911. The power station, fueled by coal shipped from Germany, was large enough to power both the town of Lüderitz and the nearby diamond fields at Kolmanskop. After Lüderitz was connected to the national power grid, the building was abandoned and fell into disrepair. The 2010/2011 Luderitz Waterfront Development Project includes restoration of this historic building and new occupants, including the town's new fire station. Namibia, Africa.
