Ballarat`s Main Road where it joins the Bridge Mall area of Ballarat is one of Ballarats oldest road was originally named Main Street circa 1850`s and then called Plank was named so because the road was layed with wooden planks that went East through the Ballarat East Goldfields for many was then called Main Road as it is called has a variety of retail stores and shops, cafes and is also a blend of goldrush era is renowned for its many and well preserved goldfields era buildings.
