Unusually gray-faced mule deer buck, seen in the springtime shortly before his antlers drop, with a doe

A buck mule deer with an unusually gray face and a doe are seen together in early spring, shortly before the buck would shed his antlers. Both deer have begun to shed their winter coats, but aren't as scruffy that they might appear in the next few weeks.
