A specimen collected in September last, at Fort Whipple, by Dr. Coues, of what I consider to be this species in autumnd plumage, lacks entirely the black of the throat, which is replaced by fulvous white. The yellow of the cheeks extends over the whole chin. The upper parts are glossed with olivaceous, and the black streaks of the back are nearly obsolete. Smltb- Collec- Sex soiiiaa tor's and Nu.
