The Civic Tower of the Governor's Palace in the city centre of Parma with the clock, the statue of the Crowned Virgin and the sundials, Emilia-Romagna

Built between 1283 and 1285 as "Palazzo dei Mercanti", lost the original mercantile functions, the building soon became the seat of the Captain of the city and, later, the Governor. The facade of the palace, entirely plastered and colored in shades of yellow, is characterized by the high central tower, which presents typical elements of the baroque style. On it, below the three large openings that house the bell, there is a large clock; below, on the sides of the niche that houses the Statue of the Crowned Virgin, are placed the complex nineteenth-century sundials.
