Installed on May 27th 2009, Marcus Vergette’s 'Time and Tide Bell' project is an art installation on the quay at Appledore in North Devon. At high tide the waves move a plate, which in turn causes the Clapper to strike a chord, signalling that it is safe to cross the infamous Bideford Bar at the mouth of the Taw and Torridge estuary.
