The Monument to the Great Fire of London, 1670-1675: details of flaming urn


The Monument to the Great Fire of London, 1670-1675, designed by Robert Hooke and Christopher Wren. The 202- foot tall fluted Doric column stands close to Pudding Lane, where the Fire started. Gilded flaming urn, with twists of gilded copper representing flames.
