Rockfall from Ramnefjell


All of the rock shown here in Nordfjord, Norway is just some of the millions on tons of rock that slid from the face of Ramnefjell on three separate occasions, in 1905, 1936 and 1950, causing the deaths of 135 people collectively from the resulting tidal waves. Now covered in vegetation they remain a reminder of the 'Lovatnet Disasters'.
