Hard shelled katydid (Dysmorpha obesa). Close-up of the head of a hard shelled katydid, showing its eyes (centre left and right) and mouthparts (lower centre). Katydids (family Tettigoniidae), also known as bush crickets, inhabit mostly tropical regions.
