Hard shelled katydid (Dysmorpha obesa). Close-up of the head of a hard shelled katydid, showing its eyes (centre left and right) and mouthparts (lower centre). Katydids (family Tettigoniidae), also known as bush crickets, inhabit mostly tropical regions. They usually feed on leaves and flowers, although they are capable of preying on other insects and small reptiles. Photographed in Danum Valley Conservation Area, Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia.
