Piles of uncollected rubbish in Tarry Road, Alum Rock, Birmingham. The refuse collectors are on strike protesting against staff cuts and lower wages. The refuse collectors had been on strike for four weeks when these pictures were taken. Rubbish has begun to smell and ripped bin bags were starting to get torn by rates and other vermin.
