A businessman has served notice on some of Warrington's oldest-established traders as part of his blueprints to shake up the town centre. From the Gatehouse store, in Sankey Street to McDonalds and JJB in Bridge Street, a host of major players are covered by Hillcliffe Investments' masterplan. And the bid, backed by Mayoral candidate Michael Foxall, even includes Poll Tax House in Rylands Street. Proposals for the redevelopment, promising a retail, leisure and municipal revolution, are now open to public consultation. The properties singled out include 16 to 24 Bridge Street, 21 Rylands Street and 13 to 31 Sankey Street. Mr Foxall, who says he has development rights for a number of key buildings, is also interested in the current home of Woolworths, Top Shop and Stationery Box.
