Po Klong Garai - Vietnam

Po Klong Garai was a temple of the ancient Cham culture (ethnic / tribe in central and soutern Vietnam, strong relationship to the Khmer). Like the Khmer of Cambodia the Cham (Champa) followed the hinduism. From the 4th to the 16th century the Cham were the dominating ethnic in South Vietnam before they were driven out by the Viet people from nothern Vietnam. The temples at Po Klong Garai are today, after they have been excarvated and reconstructed by polish archaelogists in the 1980th, in good conditions. The highest building is the temple-tower (kalan or calan) with a height of aprox. 20 Meters. The Po Klong Garai is located 100 km south of Nha Trang.
