the highlight is centered towards the lower left of the image. this is a simple most beautiful color- or grey-gradient appearing from the fact that frosted, the so called opal glass gives way to only a limited amount of light towards different directions. this is propably where the idea or origin of vignettes may have derived from: lenses, light, optical laws, impurity, perfection, perception.
