Mexican national lost his legs to cartel violence, rides bike from El Paso, Texas to Austin to raise awareness

Carlos Gutierrez, a business man from the northern state of Chihuahua in Mexico, had his feet chopped of by gangsters in his home country in 2011. He survived fled his homeland, came with his family to the US and requested political asylum. As part of his therapy and to raise awareness about violence in Mexico, he is bike riding from El Paso, Texas to Austin. Carlos is a member of the El Paso-based nonprofit group "Mexicans in Exile".
