A significant Nuremberg apothecary mortar, Master Johann Georg von Aach, dated 1784 Brass. Cylindrical body richly segmented by bands and with flaring rim. Engraved monogram "IAFS" and date "1784" on the obverse, rocaille ornaments on the reverse. Handles shaped like three-dimensional dolphins on either side. The bottom struck with the master's mark "VONAACH". With corresponding pestle. Height 32 cm, weight 38 kg. Length of pestle 48 cm. On a modern wooden base, inscribed with the same date. Height 56 cm.
