Historic 18th century footbridge and 20th century road bridge at Atcham, Shropshire, England over flooded River Severn in springtime

The 18th century footbridge at Atcham, Shropshire was built for pedestrians and horse drawn vehicles and was too fragile to bear the weight of traffic. So in 1920s a new traffic roadbridge was built alongside the footbridge to accommodate the growing number of cars on the road. The footbridge was preserved by the council and is still in use today.
