Cerebellar cortex, light micrograph

Light micrograph of the cerebellar cortex stained with haematoxylin and eosin. At top the molecular layer shows few nuclei of stellate cells. Under the molecular layer is the Purkinje cell layer showing very large neurons, with a pear-shaped cell body and dendrites towards the molecular layer. Under Purkinje cells is the granular layer that shows many nuclei of granule cells and, among them, pink areas (cerebellar glomeruli).
