St Andrew by the Wardrobe was was one of the last churches to be rebuilt by Christopher Wren (after the Great Fire of London of 1666), between 1685 and 1694. The ornate plasterwork ceiling with roundels, destroyed in the Blitz, was faithfully restored after the war
