Resembles somewhat a miniature Gladiolus. It throws up several flower spikes from each bulb, bearing numerous flowers of a brilliant orange-red, shaded with yellow ; 2£ ft. Bulbs 10 cts. each; $ per dozen. Montbretia Pottsii. Graceful branched spikes of small crimson scarlet flowers, very showy ; 2 ft. Bulbs 10 cts. each ; $ per Musa Ensete. JVIusa Ensete. The leaves are magnificent, long, broad and massive, of a beautiful green, with a broad crimson midrib; the plant grows luxuriantly from 8 to 12 feet high. During the hot sum- mer, when planted out, it grows rapidly, and attains gigantic proportions, producing a tropical effect on the lawn, terrace, or flower garden. It can be stored in a light cellar or cool greenhouse during the winter, with a covering of soil, or (planted in a tub, and watered sparingly.
