Colorized illustration from Tycho Brahe's Astronomiae Instauratae Progymnasmata, the first volume of a projected work on recent astronomical phenomena. It was published posthumously, edited by Johann Kepler, in 1602. Tycho Brahe (December 14, 1546 - October 24, 1601) was a Danish astronomer and alchemist. He was the last of the major naked eye astronomers and is credited with the most accurate astronomical observations of his time.
