Winter shot of the part of the Millennium stone circle on the summit of Hilly Fields Park, Lewisham

Winter shot of part of the Millennium stone circle on the summit of Hilly Fields Park, Lewisham. The summit of Hilly Fields stands 175 feet above sea level and commands excellent views over Lewisham and the City. To mark the Millennium, a stone circle of twelve large granite stones and two tall shadow-casting stones have been erected in the park. Hilly Fields park has been dedicated to the public since 1896 and the site of an annual midsummer fair for just over 25 years. It is a large park on a steep hill between Ladywell and Brockley. It provides a deceptively green outlook to the northwestern skyline from large parts of Catford and Hither Green.
