We have hadthis plant under observation for a numberof years but it has flowered only once. Wehave seen a second flower which Mr. OtonJimenez brought us in alcohol from CostaRica in 1919. He states that even in CostaRica the plant rarely flowers. Figure 288 shows branches of Seleni-cereus wercklei from a plant grown inWashington which was sent from CostaRica by O.
